Drones can carry explosives or chemical weapons and the market for counter drone products is growing.
Logan Harris says: "Obviously the market for drones is skyrocketing. There are many good uses for drones – for agriculture, insurance, construction, and even for emergency response. On the other side, some people are using drones for malicious purposes and because of that, unfortunately, there is an increased need for counter drone measures."
Logan Harris wants to change regulations so one can do more than just detect drones. He says: "You also need to be able to respond to a drone and one of the most effective ways right now is to do what is called RF jamming. That is to jam the broadcasting signal or interfere with its communication link or its GPS and that way, it is unable to find its way to the site. However, in many cases that is illegal."
