Optex data centre security makes debut at Data Centre World

Optex Europe recently enjoyed a significant number of important enquiries for its piggybacking detection systems and data cable protection following its first time exhibiting at the recent Data Centre World exhibition at ExceL London.

Security is paramount for data centres and Optex offers a range of intrusion detection solutions that help protect every layer of a data centre.

Two products attracted particular interest: one was the piggybacking detection solution that adds a layer of security to existing access control solutions, and will detect situations where unauthorised people are trying to go a controlled access room by piggybacking an authorised person.

The second was the Securlan, a fibre optic solution that detects tampering with the physical data cables. The most intelligent element of this product is that it uses dark fibre, the fibre not used for data transmission to act as a sensor

Ricky Miwa, Managing Director of Optex Europe, says data centres are becoming a critical part for most businesses: “With the exponential growth of data being exchanged and saved, it is incredibly important for both individuals and companies that their security does not become compromised,” he say.

“Optex is looking forward to working more closely with this industry to deliver solutions to improve data centre protection.”
