Axis wins sustainability award

Chelmsford, Ma (USA)

Earlier this month, the Business Intelligence Group (BIG) awarded Axis Communications, a market leader in network video the Sustainability Leadership Award in the 2016 Sustainability Awards programme. The Sustainability Awards honour those people, teams and organisations who have made sustainability an integral part of their business practice or overall mission.

The company states that Axis’ objective is to take sustainability into consideration in all business processes throughout the entire value chain. Axis is taking long-term responsibility by thinking big in the areas of business conduct and social and environmental responsibility. Axis strives to minimize its environmental impact, promote a healthy working environment, fight corruption, and prevent human rights breaches.

“Our sustainability practices are important to us and I am honoured that Axis Communications received this prestigious award,” said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications, Inc. “The BIG Sustainability Awards recognise innovative and outstanding companies, initiatives and products that are reshaping the business world and changing perspectives on sustainability. I’m glad that Axis is part of the change and that we’re able to lead by example.”

Another example of how Axis conducts sustainable business practices is through their involvement with the UN Global Compact and the GRI. In 2007, Axis signed the UN Global Compact which is the world’s largest sustainable initiative. The GRI is an international, independent organisation. It creates a standard for reporting to ensure measurable results called the G4 standard and it helps organizations understand and communicate the impact of business on critical sustainability issues.

“I’d like to congratulate Axis Communications on this award win. The judges made it clear that Axis should be recognised for their outstanding sustainability efforts,” said Russ Fordyce, Managing Director, Business Intelligence Group. “Their innovation and leadership should serve as a model for organisations around the globe.”
