Martin Gren believes that the segmentation of the market is one of the most interesting things that is happening in the industry right now.

“I think it is important to take more of an integrated approach to the end user, making sure that you have a package solution that end users really need, not just selling products”, he says.

He considers the Internet Security of Things to be the main trend in the physical security market:

”It is so obvious that you do not just need cameras, you need many other devices that are connected to the system too”, he says.

Big Chinese manufacturers like Hikvison and Dahua are gaining global market share. Martin Gren stresses that Axis make their cameras in Asia and that the cost of a camera is more or less volume dependent.

”The other costs are service, support and quality and I think we excel there. So, we have to charge for the quality, support and the service, and that is what you get. It makes it more expensive to buy, but in the long run, it is actually cheaper to buy from Axis than to buy from the Chinese”, he says.
