Vivotek aims to make life safer

Taipei, Taiwan

Vivotek is all set to participate in the 2014 Ifsec International starting next week, where the company will display its latest intelligent technologies and next-generation products, aiming to bring visitors new experiences with the company's in-house developed smart, yet simple surveillance solutions.

Vivotek’s Executive Vice President, Steve Ma, asserted, "Social and economic development have led developed and developing countries to place focal attention on the building of smart cities. However, enhancing efficiency and improving quality of life are key prerequisites for realising a smart city. Vivotek demonstrates a high level of commitment to accelerate the prevalence of smart cities, putting tremendous resources into relevant research and development to consequently produce smart, simple, and superior surveillance solutions that facilitate the construction of smart living environments.”

The Vivotek will highlight various product applications, small form-factor and easy-to-use solutions, and renowned lighting technology at the 2014 Ifsec International event.

To expand camera scalability and create more benefits for customers, the company is introducing the Vivotek Application Development Platform (VADP); an open platform for integrating video analytic functionality within its cameras. Several intelligent features, such as object counting, line detection, field detection, face detection, and heat map, among others, can be directly installed in Vivotek cameras, significantly contributing to security and business efficiency. The FE8181V, Vivotek’s newly developed 5 megapixel IR fisheye fixed dome network camera is equipped with the VADP, and will be employed at Ifsec to demonstrate heat map applications.

To achieve the goal of improving the security, efficiency, and productivity of retail staff and ensuring a safer shopping environment for customers, Vivotek has developed a user friendly "Convenient Retail Solution.” This solution comprises the ND8321, a plug-and-play network video recorder, elegantly designed ultra-mini bullet network cameras, and ultra-mini dome network cameras. This comprehensive solution is not only designed to improve the operational flow of retail stores, but also to ensure the quality of the customer shopping experience. Moreover, Vivotek has developed a compact, easy-to-use split camera system for ATM applications. This system comprises recessed camera units and a video core that minimize inconvenience to ATM users, but simultaneously capture their features clearly.

Low-light object identification functionalities have become a fundamental criteria in the market because of increasing demand for effective security and intelligent utilisation of video footage. To offer unparalleled visibility under low light conditions, Vivotek has designed cameras with SNV (Supreme Night Visibility) technology and three types of WDR solutions in the development of its products, namely, WDR Enhanced, WDR Pro (100-120dB), and WDR Pro II (140dB). Vivotek’s latest professional outdoor bullet network camera, the IP8355EH, is equipped with low-light technology and WDR Pro II. This model will be on display at Ifsec. In addition, Vivotek is releasing a newly developed 5 megapixel IR fisheye fixed dome network camera, the FE8181V. This model includes a removable IR-cut filter to provide for both day and night operations, and is equipped with a 10 metre built-in IR illuminator that delivers uniform lighting for 360° surround view at night. Vivotek’s FE8181V is undoubtedly an innovative solution for the contemporary industry.

More uniquely, Vivotek has been collaborating closely and maintaining strong partnership with international and regional leading solution partners for seamlessly integrating camera functionalities onto different platforms. At Ifsec, the successful integrations with Axxonsoft, Digiever, Genetec, GVD, Milestone, Nuuo, QNAP and Synology platforms will be shown along side Vivotek’s latest products, the Panoramic PTZ solution, and Smart Stream technology.
