Tavcom sets strategy for market growth

Bishops Waltham, Hampshire (UK)

Tavcom has completed a major upgrade of the CCTV training facilities at its Bishops Waltham training centre.
From September 2013, students attending one of Tavcom’s wide range of BTEC certificated CCTV courses will be able to take advantage of unrivalled ‘hands-on’ facilities which provide an immediate opportunity for students to put theory into practice, with the help of analogue and digital equipment supplied by well known brands including Axis, Dallmeier, Idis, Panasonic, Pelco, Samsung Techwin and Vista.

“The market for IP network based video surveillance systems is growing almost exponentially but in the UK, more than any other country in the world, it is still steeped in analogue CCTV technology,” said Paul Tennent, Tavcom’s Managing Director. “With this in mind, we have set out our new CCTV training facilities to make it easy to educate installers, operators, security managers and system designers on how to extend the life of an existing analogue system by introducing hybrid solutions, whilst starting on the process of migrating to a Video over IP solution.

The investment made in the new training facilities reflects Tavcom’s determination to maintain its position as a market leading security systems training provider. “To complement the skills of our hand-picked expert tutors, all of which have real life experience of installing, servicing and operating CCTV systems, we now have the best equipped workshop facilities anywhere in the world,” said Paul Tennent. “However, with technology continuing to advance at a rapid rate, we will not hesitate in the future to continue to upgrade our training facilities as and when required.”
