SSNRII wide dynamic range (WDR) camera

Samsung Techwin has launched a new SSNRII Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) camera designed to take full advantage of Video over IP technology.

The SNC-570 has a dual codec which enables simultaneous real-time transmission of both MPEG-4 and JPEG images.

Peter Ainsworth, product manager for Samsung Techwin, explains the benefits; "The SNC-570 allows different users at separate locations on a network to choose how they may wish to view live images captured by the camera. An operator in a control room may, for example, just have a need to verify an incident by viewing QCIF quality JPEG images, whilst simultaneously a Head of Security may choose to observe the same incident at full D1 resolution utilising MPEG-4 compression."

The SNC-570, which offers dual voltage plus a Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability, has an SD memory slot which enables the camera to record and store high quality images locally. It also has built-in video analytic capability for detecting object placement or removal.

Like all new Samsung Techwin cameras the SNC-570 comes equipped with the second generation of Samsung's Super Noise Reduction technology (SSNRII), which eliminates image noise in low-light conditions. Coupled with a powerful WDR function, 560 TV lines resolution and true Day/Night functionality with integrated IR cut-filter, this high performance camera can consistently deliver superb quality colour images and stunning monochrome images to very low lighting levels.
