Hiqview launches full HD cameras for retail

Retail shops, commodity stores and shopping malls are most fearful of uncertain costs and of management safety risks. Some of the losses in stores are difficult to prevent, such as inventory shrinkage, fraud, theft and so on. Hiqview has launched the HIQ-5351 and HIQ-5481 HD IP surveillance cameras to help make loss prevention and warehouse management easier. When any detected objects are lifted or removed, or if there are any suspicious shopping behaviours, the shop owners or managers will receive an alert from the IP cameras. This should not only bring up revenue by cutting down on losses, with HD IP cameras, but also both shoppers and in-store employees are protected in a safer and pleasant environment.

The HiQ-5481 is a 4-megapixel outdoor dome IP camera that is equipped with a 1/3" CMOS sensor, 3.6mm @F2.1 fixed lens, and all-IP architecture. Its camera housing is ranked as IP66 compliant to sustain wet and dusty weather and ambient conditions. The HIQ-5481 has an IK10 vandal-proof design to prevent sabotage by pounding and tampering to break or impair the camera. The camera is equipped with a PoE function to take its power supply over an Ethernet cable.

The HIQ-5351 is a 2-megapixel indoor wireless IP dome that is equipped with a 1/2.7" CMOS sensor. It supports wireless 802.11b/g/n technology to ensure transmission via WEP, WPA-PSK, and WPA2-PSK in high security applications to offer a safe yet flexible option for configuration at different application environments.

Both IP dome cameras are designed for applications in both day and night time conditions The HIQ-5481 has 15 units of IR LEDs built in for infrared radiation of up to 15 metres, while the HIQ-5351 includes 6 LEDs for IR illumination for a distance of up to a maximum of 5 metres. They are equipped with various rich functions, such as multiple resolution adjustments, digital wide dynamic range (D-WDR), and digital noise reduction (DNR). A powerful VMS software, Hiqview Vision, is included in each product shipment; this VMS helps to manage Hiqview IP camera for up to 64 channels.

With these cameras retailers can not only help to increase revenue via loss reduction, but they can also provide a highly secured business environment for staff and clients. Hiqview IP cameras can leverage existing in-store security systems. Stores with these IP cameras can be monitored remotely during on duty times and after hours. Shop owners, supervisors, and managers can access the system to retrieve archives quickly upon an alarm event. This means that the safety of employees is protected as they do not have to confront a crime when it happens.

Hiqview IP surveillance system can be easily integrated with POS (point of sale) systems. Texts data outputted from a POS system can be logged over video in Hiqview's NVRs, DVRs, and/or VMS software. Retailers can use these data to improve store layout and service, in order to improve in-store promotion efficiency and achieve higher customer satisfaction.
