Axis enhances P32 Series cameras

Chelmsford, Ma (USA)

Axis Communications has confirmed updates to its popular Axis P32 Series, a range of affordable cameras designed to provide effective image quality in any lighting conditions.

The successor cameras combine Axis’ Lightfinder technology, which delivers optimal light sensitivity with color video and Axis’ Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) Forensic Capture technology, which optimises for forensic purposes by providing an exceptional level of image detail in both dark and bright areas of a scene. Many of the models have built-in infrared (IR) illuminators that can capture high-quality video in total darkness. Easy to set up and maintain, the cameras are ideal for the banking, retail, hospitality and education sectors.

“With these upgraded fixed dome cameras, we have raised the bar in terms of performance,” said Fredrik Nilsson, VP, Americas, Axis Communications, Inc. “The enhancements made to the Axis P32 Series include many of our newer technologies which can increase overall efficiency, more specifically, light sensitivity, forensics and storage and bandwidth requirements.”

Reliable and vandal resistant, the Axis P32 Series includes dust and IK08 impact-resistant indoor models, as well as weather and IK10 impact-resistant outdo or models. Both models have day/night functionality and support P-Iris control for optimal image clarity and depth of field. The cameras’ varifocal lens with remote zoom and focus capabilities provides an efficient way of adjusting the field of view to a specific area of interest.

The eight successor models support Axis’ Zipstream technology, which can lower bandwidth and storage requirements up to 50% or more. .Current Axis P32 models will be discontinued and, when out of stock will be replaced by the corresponding Mk II successor model. The Mk II models are compatible with existing Axis P32 accessories and spare parts.
