Siemens invests further in backbone infrastructure for AI

Siemens is set to invest more than $200 million in two new U.S. manufacturing facilities in Pendergrass, Georgia, and Grand Prairie, Texas. These investments are part of a move to expand Siemens’ global capacity. In July 2026, the company already announced an investment of €300 million in its factories in Germany to support the rapid growth of AI and data centres.

The new US investments will expand Siemens’ production capacity to deliver the critical electrical infrastructure required to power the next wave of AI. Siemens will create more than 1,500 jobs and strengthen its ability to serve the rapidly growing demand for AI-ready data centres.

With these investments we are strengthening our global leadership in the electrical backbone of AI and helping customers build efficient, resilient, AI-ready data centres.”

The new facilities will produce the electrical equipment that keeps AI data centres running: systems essential for distributing, monitoring and controlling power across highly complex, energy-intensive environments. This enables customers to expand capacity while maintaining reliability, responding flexibly to changing loads and using energy and equipment more efficiently. Strong demand for these solutions is already visible in Siemens’ results. In the first nine months of its current fiscal year, the company recorded triple-digit order growth in its data centre business, with orders reaching around €6 billion.

Siemens is positioned on both sides of the AI buildout: providing the infrastructure AI relies on while bringing domain-specific AI into real-world engineering and operations. Its industrial AI capabilities combine software, automation and digital twins to help customers design, build and operate complex physical systems more efficiently and resiliently.
