Solution for loss prevention in retail

Ottawa, Ontario (Canada)

March Networks has launched VideoSphere Hosted Business Intelligence (BI) Services for retail organizations. This software-as-a-service offering enables retail chains to benefit from advanced loss prevention and operations management tools while eliminating large, upfront capital investments and IT infrastructure costs.

Based on the Company's VideoSphere Extreme Loss Prevention (LP) software suite, the subscription-based hosted solution provides retailers with powerful, point-of-sale (POS) exception reporting and operations analysis to reduce shrinkage and improve store performance. This solution is ideal for small to mid-sized retail chains seeking to maximize existing resources and larger organizations that want to expand LP and operations capabilities quickly and cost-effectively.

With VideoSphere Hosted BI Services, customers can access and customize their reports at any time using a secure, web-based dashboard, or receive reports regularly via email. Applications include a standard set of up to 40 policies designed to identify unusual transactions, detailed store performance reports, top product analysis, and transaction management capabilities. The solution has been designed to meet Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI-DSS) to protect the privacy and security of credit card data.

"Hosted business intelligence is an attractive option for many retail organizations that want enterprise-class functionality without major capital outlays or additional software for their IT staff to manage," said Peter Strom, president and CEO, March Networks. "We are pleased to meet this need in the marketplace with new, high performance services that are scalable, fully distributed and address the requirements of both large and small retail customers."

Hosted BI Services are the latest addition to March Networks' existing portfolio of managed and professional services for retail organizations. The Company's Managed Video Network Services provide remote health monitoring and maintenance of a customer's entire video network to ensure optimum performance, while its Retail Professional Services range from installation and implementation to training and consulting services.
