The study, conducted in April 2025 with a representative sample of 505 Spanish customers in the sector, indicates that this increase is due to greater awareness of home security. In fact, 50.1% of respondents cite the perception of insecurity as the main reason for purchasing an alarm, followed by recommendations from family or friends (34.3%) and promotional offers (27.2%).

Movistar Prosegur Alarms, a company 50% owned by Telefónica and Prosegur, is consolidating its growth in the Spanish home security market after doubling its subscriber base in the last five years.

Among the most common motivations for purchasing an alarm according to the survey, are the desire to feel more secure (52.3%), the desire to prevent illegal occupations (20%), and a response to the increase in burglaries in the neighbourhood (13.5%). Furthermore, demand is growing among those who spend little time at home, reinforcing the need for permanent and automated protection solutions. The study also reveals a democratisation of access to home security. More than 44% of new customers have a net monthly income between €1,000 and €3,000, and 67% of installations are carried out in apartments, especially in mezzanine-type dwellings (60%).
