Abu Dhabi, U.A.E

This week, Abu Dhabi is hosting what is touted to be the world’s largest homeland security and national resilience event in 2016, and the organisers are citing that the global Homeland Security Market is set to double to $500B up to the year 2022.

Abu Dhabi is currently playing host to the 7th edition of the International Exhibition for National Security and Resilience (ISNR), held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, National Security Advisor, and Vice Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council from 15-17 March 2016 at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC). The event is organised by the UAE Ministry of Interior in conjunction with Reed Exhibitions.

The seventh edition is held under the theme of “Connecting Governments, Society, and Business, Through Innovation, Leadership, and Excellence to Build Safer Communities and Ensure a More Resilient World.”

ISNR 2016  offers a unique platform to address the region’s Homeland Security challenges, and is aligned with UAE Vision 2021 to protect UAE citizens against threats, and enhance emergency readiness of critical national infrastructure, and ensure stability of the country.

“In this turbulent era, countries are facing an increasing number and diversity of physical and cyber-threats. As the world’s largest homeland security event in 2016, ISNR 2016 is a testament to the Middle East leading in providing the latest solutions, and sharing best practices, to ensure the safety and the security of their citizens and infrastructure,” said His Excellency Dr Obaid Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, ISNR Abu Dhabi.

ISNR 2016 addresses all major security sectors including critical infrastructure protection, border control, airport and maritime safety and security, urban security, intelligence and threat management, special forces, counter-terrorism, and information security.

“In anticipation of the global growth in homeland security and national resilience, ISNR 2016 brings together public and private stakeholders to build a safer and more secure nation and region – from expert insights on cyber-security to the latest counter-terrorism solutions,” said His Excellency Major General Dr Ahmed Nasser Al Raisi, Deputy Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee, ISNR 2016.

“ISNR 2016 will be the world’s largest homeland security exhibition in 2016, delivering 20,000 square metres of net indoor exhibition space, a growth of 70 percent compared to the 2014 edition. The event is set to become the most comprehensive of its kind, with new and expanded show features, and expected to host more than 20,000 attendees from 90 countries, and more than 500 exhibiting companies from 45 countries,” said Ara Fernezian, Group Managing Director – Middle East, Reed Exhibitions.

New countries represented include Austria, Czech Republic, Ivory Coast, Jordan, Latvia, Poland, Romania, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, and a new country pavilion for USA, complementing national pavilions from France and Germany.

“Demonstrating the strong business opportunity, ISNR 2014 drove more than USD 300 million worth of on-site deals and partnerships. Continuing the momentum, the ISNR 2016 Business Connect team is arranging more than 3,000 meetings between buyers from government, private sector buyers and exhibitors, a 60 percent increase, driving the region’s Homeland Security and Resilience market. We are also expecting to host 200 representatives from government buyers and delegations from over 20 countries,” added Ara Fernezian.
