Water front and harbour security focus at this year's UDT

UDT Europe 2008, (which this year will be held at the purpose built SECC, Glasgow, from 10th - 12th of June 2008), have released details of the wide ranging subjects that they will be covering in their conference programme, which will include maritime security and force protection.

The Maritime Security and Force Protection Sessions will be held over 2 days, and will consist of 4 separate sessions and one poster session.

A number of sessions relating to water front and harbour security will be held, below is a glance of what will be covered.

The first session on development of equipment for diver detection in harbour, will be held on Tuesday 10th June, from 14.00 and will include: From Concept to Acceptance, this paper, presented by Sonardyne,UK, will outline the key initial design decisions made for the Sentinel Intruder Detection Sonar and how they helped the system move from concept prototype through to production Diver Detection Sonar "X-Type" This paper presented by Oceanscan,UK, discusses how the "X-Type" has been designed with high angular resolution and broadband correlation compression of received
signals, and will show some examples. Critical Operational Analysis of Diver Detection Sonar Systems. This paper presented by DSIT Solutions, Israel will investigate the operational parameters necessary for a successful Diver Detection Sonar system.
