Vista unveils 4 channel wireless NVR

Reading, Berkshire (UK)

Vista is launching its four-channel wireless NVR, the VK2-REC04HDW, capable of recording up to 4 full HD 1080p Vista VK2 cameras via LAN or the unit's integrated WiFi, it provides a simple set up and is completely secure across a network.
The criteria for the design phase was to engineer an NVR that was aesthetically pleasing and exceptionally simple to use. The result, according to the company, is Vista’s smartest and most compact network video recorder to date.

Combining ease of use with minimal set up, the NVR automatically detects broadband routers and programmes its own IP address information. Furthermore, the impressive easy install feature automatically detects cameras connected to the broadband router or network and starts recording them straight out of the box.

The integrated wireless antennas allows for up to four wireless cameras to be attached to the NVR, greatly simplifying installation, while the small form factor is perfect for homes and small offices. The addition of relay inputs and outputs provides simple integration with external detectors and intruder systems, allowing the NVR to be event driven.

Text-In offers users the ability to integrate with third party systems such as home automation or retail systems. Text from the third party system can also be overlaid onto the video and used to search video.

Key features include support for 4 x 1080p video @ 25ips, 8 alarm inputs, up to 3Tb storage onboard a gigabit network card, and an integrated wireless feature for connection to VK2 cameras. There is also audio support and it is supplied with the new powerful VK2-client software.

Mark Pritchard, Divisional Director of Vista, comments:“The VK2-REC04HDW NVR is our smallest NVR to date but offers a great deal of functionality. The integrated Wi-Fi complements our increasing range of wireless IP cameras operating on WPS and greatly simplifies installation.”
