This new technology means that under normal conditions continuous recording operates at a low frame rate and then, when an event occurs, the camera automatically increases up to 25ips 1080p HD video.

According to the company, Boost dramatically reduces the total amount of network bandwidth required to support HD network cameras as the VK2 cameras only require higher network bandwidth during an event.

NVR storage requirements can also be significantly reduced when using Boost. NVRs can be configured to record continuously at low frame rates and, when an event occurs, the cameras can immediately increases the NVR recording rate up to 25 images per second at HD 1080p.

Vista’s powerful VK2 IP cameras can generate up to three simultaneous HD 1080p video streams and each stream can be configured individually with its own Boost settings. Coupled with the ability to fix the bandwidth, Boost puts the user firmly in control of network and storage requirements.

Event triggers can be from multiple sources including the camera’s video motion detection, physical inputs such as PIR motion sensors and, in case of network failure, the camera can Boost video recorded locally on the camera itself (Edge Recording).

Vista’s new boost technology allows the camera to simply increase the rate of images sent in response to an alarm on a single IP stream, greatly simplifying the install and equipment required.”
