VIP installation for Derwent Illuminators

Derwent Infra-Red illuminators are being used to protect the home of a well known celebrity, in an installation by specialist installer Saffron Security.

The TV personality, who cannot be named, asked Saffron Security to set up a security system which would protect the grounds and approach to the houseday and night.
"The property is made up of a number of buildings, including a business unit, which needs to be watched day and night. There is concern that people may be tempted to snoop around," explains Andy Murrell of Saffron Security.
"We have set up 14 external cameras and mounted Derwent's MFLED lamps directly beneath them to ensure high quality image capture during the vulnerable hours of darkness."
Mr Murrell says he chose Derwent's MFLED lamps because they are "neat, attractive and effective." A versatile solid-state illuminator, MFLED's discreet, compact and aesthetically pleasing design, means it can be used internally or externally to dramatically improve the performance of surveillance cameras under low light conditions.
"They are really easy to install and give excellent coverage of the target area. We have used them in the same way for other domestic customers because they look very smart."
He adds that the lamps long life and low power consumption is also an important factor. With an average life well in excess of 5 years MFLED provides real savings for the end user in terms of running and maintenance costs.
"We always use Derwent illuminators because they do what they claim - they really work. We want our systems to be reliable and our view is that we should always use the best equipment that we know will do the job right."
Livestock is kept at the property, with a walled garden and adjoining fields, these are being covered by Derwent's powerful SuperLED, which can provide long range Infra-Red illumination to distances of up to 250 metres.
Mr Murrell says his fourteen-year-old family business has built its reputation by serving a network of customers in the North Essex, Cambridge, Suffolk and Herefordshire area, including a number of VIPs. "We only take on work that we can service well and we don't believe in taking short cuts," he adds. "This means we only use the best equipment available."
