Varifo launches H.265 IP camera

Among the benefits of the new H.265/HEVC coding format over the legacy H.264/MPEG-4 is a 40 percent or more bit rate reduction at the same visual quality. Therefore, a camera could provide either better visual quality than H.264 with existing network and storage requirements, or it could provide the same visual quality with 40 percent less network and storage needs.

On the 1st December, Varifo System, a fast growing brand and a technology pioneer in IP surveillance, is set to launch its new H.265 high-definition IP camera solution globally from Hangzhou in China, where the company is based.

The Varifo IP camera solution is entering a new area with the new H. 265 international standard. The new H.265/HEVC coding format, which, compared to the legacy H.264/MPEG-4  offers a 40 percent or more bit rate reduction at the same visual quality. Therefore, the new Varifo IP camera can provide either better visual quality than H.264 with existing network and storage requirements, or the same visual quality with 40 percent less network and storage resources needed.

The benefits of this breakthrough will deliver high-definition video at much lower bandwidth and take much less space in storage. This will not only save tremendously on system costs, but it will also maintain the same level of high-definition video images on all footage.

"Under previous conditions, how often do you have to wait for a video image to load on to your screen?  - With this forthcoming H.265 HD IP camera solution, you don't have to wait anymore!" Said Jenny Chen, Sales Director at Varifo System.
