Samsung 1.3 megapixel camera integrates with panomorph lens

Ridgefield Park, NJ

Samsung Techwin is introducing a 1.3 megapixel high-definition network camera that is compatible with the 360-degree Immervision Enables panomorph lens.
Samsung's SNB-5000 model camera now offers 360-degree viewing to increase surveillance coverage and heighten situational awareness with virtually no blind spots on live or recorded surveillance video.

Samsung's SNB-5000 1.3 megapixel HD network camera provides 1280x1024 resolution at 22 frames per second (fps) and includes features such as intelligent video analytics and Power over Ethernet (PoE). Multiple simultaneous streaming includes H.264, MPEG-4 and MJPEG encoding. The camera also supports the 16:9 HD aspect ratio and 30 fps HD standard (720p). Combined with the Immervision Enables panomorph lens, the camera provides expanded coverage capabilities and improved cost efficiency.

“The addition of 360-degree coverage to our camera enables users to leverage the benefits of heightened situational awareness on live video or to record and play back anytime,” said Samsung Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Frank DeFina. “The camera doesn't miss anything, and users can zoom into any part of the 360-degree image to focus on a selected area. Thanks to our camera's 1.3-megapixel resolution we obtain a much wider 360° area coverage for both indoor and outdoor applications.”

The panomorph lens is compatible with Immervision Enables technology to provide viewing of a 360-degree surveillance area from various simultaneous perspectives. Everything in the frame is visible and being recorded at all times. Operators can change the perspective of recorded pictures using a virtual pan-tilt-zoom control, irrespective of the original live view.
