Multi-ISO HF reader

Mainz, Germany

Arygon Technologies launches its Multi-ISO HF desktop and OEM reader for ISO 14443 A / B and ISO 15693 / 18000-3 Mode 1 based applications. It offers unique features in a small cost efficient design, while utilizing the existing PC/SC standard for USB and also uniquely for the RS232 interface, according to the company..

Features of the new Arygon Multi-ISO HF Reader:

- Firmware capable of highest security features at reasonable cost, because no additional Hardware SAM is needed (DES, 3DES and AES encryption for Mifare DESFire EV 1, Mifare Plus and Mifare Ultralight C transponders).

- Use the same reader for fast and easy integration, scalability and maintenance of existing ISO 14443 and 15693 transponder deployments within separated and converging applications in any USB and RS232 environment.

- PC / SC Driver for USB and uniquely for RS232 interface makes application development easy by using existing applications programmed for PC/SC.

- Patented innovative Antenna Design for high speed applications.

- Field upgradeable firmware via bootloader for easy adaptation for future contactless card standards.

The new Multi-ISO HF Reader is suitable for various applications in Person ID and HF Object ID, especially:
Card and Tag Personalization Stations; Logical Access to PC´s and Networks; Printers and other PC-peripherals; Payment, Loyalty and Point-of-Sales (POS) terminals; Vending Machines and Kiosks; Physical Access and Time & Attendance; Libraries, Canteen and Campus Applications; Car Rental; Medical and Industrial Applications.

"Our new Multi-ISO HF Reader is a highly innovative and flexible device for various applications addressing their specific cost and performance needs," said Frank Steigberger, director of sales of Arygon Technologies. "Additionally it anticipates major market trends towards higher security (DES, 3DES and AES encryption), standard-based applications in PC and mobile environments along all hardware interfaces (e.g. RS232, USB, etc.) and therefore a trend towards converging applications. Like for example using the same ARYGON reader for ISO 14443 smart cards and tickets as well as ISO 15693 based tags
in campus, libraries or car rental environments."

"The new Multi-ISO HF Reader design opens up a new generation of future Arygon contactless readers", stated Bodo Ischebeck, CEO of Arygon Technologies. "The innovative design platform was generated by close cooperation with our customers and their needs, allowing us to accelerate dedicated product deployments for contactless payment, transportation and e-doc markets like passports and ID cards."

The Arygon Multi-ISO HF Reader supports the most important chips from various transponders manufacturers:
Atmel, Electronic Marin, Infineon, NXP, ST Microelectronics, Texas Instruments, etc. It also reads NFC phones in tag emulation mode or contactless microcontroller cards (e.g. JCOP). Especially it already supports the new NXP Mifare products Ultralight C, Plus and DESFire EV1. It is fully certified for FCC, CE, USB IF and Microsoft WHQL XP and also full RoHS compliant. A full set of documentation and
a comprehensive tool suite, incl. API´s and command set examples, are available on request. The Arygon Multi-ISO HF Reader is available as a desktop and OEM version with USB or RS232 Interface and will be ready for volume deliveries by the end of August.
