The NVR Touch series is a standalone network video recorder capable of displayng and recording at full HD (1080P) at 25/30fps per channel for 16 HD or megapixel IP cameras simultaneously. "There are more PC-based NVRs available currently as it is much easier to utilise a PC resource to develop a software-based NVR than a standalone embedded system." Jason Hill, Group Vice President of Lilin, explains "It has taken us 4 years to develop a processor for decoding real time HD video streams that do not rely on a PC. The NVR Touch is another world first from Lilin and the world's first standalone NVR to enable simultaneous recording of up to 16 HD IP video channels at 25FPS per channel."

The NVR Touch supports 8 SATA HDDs, 1 eSATA and 2 USB2.0 in its low-profile outline design. At a high compression ratio, each video frame is generated in a size of only 1.8 - 2.2 MB for longer duration with 16-channel real-time HD video recording of up to 2 months. Users can easily 'drag and drop' any picture, video fraction to back up onto an external memory device via a USB slot or a built-in slim DVD/RW (only available on NVR-116D)on the front panel.

The system setup and operation are user-friendly and operate using a DVR-style front panel with familiar controllers, such as job-shuttle, IR remote controller, the external PTZ keyboard, and/or via a standard touch screen monitor. Lilin's unique touch-screen interface takes advantage of highly intuitive smartphone-like features--'pinch and zoom', multi-touch and scrolling, icon based menu--deliberately avoiding traditional 'desk-top' screen management. The most special feature of the NVR Touch is its automated installation wizard, WS Discovery. The WS Discovery wizard will automatically locate all cameras on a network to assign each an IP address and feeds back in a preview picture with the address of each channel at system setup. This quick function tool greatly speeds up commissioning.

Lilin offers CMX software as a free download on their official website to support monitoring and system operation at remote sites. The basic video management software supports 'drag and drop' for any of 36 channels from a list of detected IP cameras or network video devices. The free-download CMX software supports web live monitoring with functions of PTZ control, playback, emapping, alarm management, and 2-way audio monitoring. For remote monitoring and operation via a smart phone or pad device, users can download apps like 'Live cams' and 'IP Cam Viewer' from either the Itune store or Android online shops. These apps work with Lilin's NVR Touch remotely from an Iphone, Ipad, Android phone and pad, as well as Blackberry mobile phone devices.
