Kentec fire technology built into Malaysian offshore crew boats

Dartford, Kent (UK)

World-class builder of sea craft and vessels NGV Tech of Malaysia has installed Kentec fire control panels at the heart of their latest project - 34m aluminium Fast Offshore Crew Boats, with a 50 passenger capacity, built for a Malaysian oilrig company.
With vessel certification for their fire alarm and detection systems the most crucial commissioning criteria, NGV chose Kentec's Syncro ASM single loop, analogue addressable, fire control panel to be at the heart of this latest project. The system, supported by Hochiki open protocol fire data communications, and integrated to up to 50 Hochiki devices for each vessel, has been installed in the wheelhouse, main deck, below decks and the engine room, as required by relevant compliances.

The Fast Crew Boats are built under BV Classification and the fire and safety equipment installed in accordance with IMO and HSC code standards. The Syncro ASM is certified as compliant to the Maritime Equipment Directorate (MED) and approved by ABS, CSS, Det Norske Veritas, Germanischer Lloyd, Lloyds Register and Korean register. The choice of Syncro ASM by NGV was determined by the ease with which the fire control panels can be networked to provide scalable fire alarm systems, suitable for many classes of vessel.
