Intersec show reflects buoyant security industry

Dubai, U.A.E

His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated Intersec 2011 in Dubai on January 16th. It was the largest ever edition of the region's premier trade and networking event for the security industry with the show some 25% bigger than last year.
Although official visitor numbers haven't yet been declared, trade visitor numbers are thought to top last year's 19,000. "Over the last 12 years, Intersec has mirrored the expansion of the regional safety and security industry," said Ahmed Pauwels, chief executive officer of organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

"Through Intersec we will continue to feature the latest trends and enhancements in the global industry. We have further development plans in mind which will play a part in influencing more positive advances in the region by facilitating and promoting trade and an exchange of ideas," he added.

Intersec 2011 featured a series of new product launches and a full programme of conferences and workshops that addressed key topics of interest to the Middle East market. Visitors also enjoyed live demonstrations of emergency response tactics in collaboration with Dubai Police and Dubai Police K-9 Training Department as well as the UAE International Firefit Championship with participation from UAE, GCC and international teams.
