In this project, the Nile Taxi required first to view/playback/backup all cameras via the internet online while the yacht is travelling along the Nile.  The second challenge for this project is that there is almost no room on a yacht to accommodate a mobile NVR or any storage device for the camera onboard. Further, and the most difficult part of the case was to provide a stable power supply along with twenty-four hour cruising yet without affecting the yacht's main battery.

Compu-Lab won the tender for the project with the GKB Diplomat IP solution.  This river taxi service provider has adopted a 3G router to work with GKB cameras for remote viewing and access over the internet. And, the GKB Diplomat Cloud-CMS provides a platform to configure all IP cameras that are installed on their fleet of yachts. Supervisers and the owner can gain access to the system via a Cloud-CMS, App on mobile, and software bundled for PCs with the account ID and password.

Since the GKB IP cameras are equipped with an Edge Recording facility for 32GB Micro SD, they work independently and decentralised; this means that the entire Diplomat IP surveillance solution requires no NVR to view, record, playback, control and further to distribute the video stream locally or remotely.  As it only requires a 12V 45Amp power supply, the Nile Taxi connects the boat’s main battery dedicated to providing the power to each camera on the yacht. 

After the new system was installed and tested, the Nile Taxi expressed their satisfaction, "Compu-Lab has done a very good job. We are highly satisfied with the video quality and the over-all system performance of the GKB Diplomat IP solution."
