Dubai, UAE

Industry streams and technology conference provides strong platform for business development in sold-out technology exhibition.

Gitex technology week will run from 8-12 September 2007 at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) featuring three dedicated industry events: Gitex business solutions, Gulfcomms and consumer electronics, and will be held in association with Gitex shopper, which takes place from the 6-12 September 2007 at the Airport Expo Dubai.

Technology leaders have offered strong support for the repositioned Gitex Technology week, with this year's event shaping up to be one of the most innovative in the history of the event.

The 2007 event comprises of three major streams - Gitex business solutions, Gulfcomms and consumer electronics - to enable companies to focus on their key customer segments. Additionally, new initiatives such as the Gitex technology week priority club and the Gitex technology week flobal conference have been planned to optimise the participants' show experience.

Partly as a result of these innovations, Gitex technology week - which will occupy the entire Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre (DICEC) - is now sold out. The show is set to be even bigger than last year's record-breaking event in terms of space utilization, with companies deploying a number of ingenuous onsite promotional campaigns to maximise their footprint at this year's event.

Industry leaders across all ICT sectors - Acer, CA, Cisco, du, etisalat, Hewlett Packard, IBM, i-Mate, Intel, Oracle, Panasonic, Samsung, SAP, Sun Microsystems, Sony and Trend Micro - have planned major announcements and initiatives for the 2007 event.

"The strength of Gitex has always been the extent to which the event has been able to evolve to meet the business objectives of our exhibitors and trade visitors. The new innovations at Gitex technology week underline this commitment, and have been very strongly received by companies from across the IT industry," says Helal Saeed Al Marri, director general, Dubai World Trade Centre.

"We see this year's Gitex technology week as a major opportunity to enhance our leading position within the Middle East market, by connecting with some of our most important customers and interacting with a new range of senior decision-makers. We are using our participation within Gitex technology week to launch Oracle Database 11g, the latest release of the world's leading database technology" comments Husam Dajani, senior vp, Oracle MEA.

"Gitex technology week is a great platform to launch new devices for the regional market, and we aim to capture people's imagination and headlines with the launch of our new line of products," said Jack Craine, general manager of i-mate MEA and Pakistan.

All sessions are free to Gitex technology week trade visitors and places will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
