The device is designed to give a clear wide angle space imaging at a point of entrance, thus extending the field of view for more background information. With the built-in face detection function, it captures only accurate facial images, and filtering out faces hidden by masks or helmets.

The GV-CR420 is supported by both Geovision video surveillance and access control applications. It captures and transmits live view to GV-Asmanager, Geovision’s access control management solution, and GV-System, the company’s surveillance video management solution, through network connection. The integration increases assurance levels in both surveillance and access control and with the built-in IP camera, it avoids the hassle of installing a separate camera at the entrance to a building.

The GV-CR420 uses a wide angle lens, providing extra space imaging in comparison to traditional cameras. The advantage of this is that it is possible to include more informative images than just a visual of the card user, for example, tailgaters may also be included in the camera view.

Geovision believes that the GV-CR420 is unique in relation to the special authentication mode - card and face detection mode. The mode grants access only when both the card and a face are presented. This is to ensure face images are correctly captured as intended at an entrance, for retrieval as needed later. Face detection mode may be enabled by schedule to increase over all security when needed.

There are also other built-in intelligent video functions such as motion detection, privacy mask and alert notifications. All these functions can be easily accessed by the friendly web browser interface.
