Genetec uses Ifsec platform for European Stratocast launch

Montreal, Canada

Genetec will hold its European launch for Stratocast, a new cloud-based video surveillance system at Ifsec 2013, set to take place next month at the NEC, Birmingham, UK.
In addition, at the show Genetec will also showcase the latest version of its unified security platform, Security Center and the new Synergis Master Controller.

With packages starting at an economic monthly price point per camera, Stratocast is an affordable, yet powerful video surveillance as a service (VSaaS) solution. Designed to meet the needs of small and midsized businesses, such as quick service restaurants, retail shops, office buildings, as well as sporting and musical events, Stratocast offers a high-end and extremely reliable video security solution without the costs and advanced configuration typically associated with installing and managing on-premise surveillance systems.

Visitors to the Genetec stand will have the opportunity to experience first hand how Stratocast leverages Genetec’s video leadership to provide essential functionalities such as native HD video support for clear picture quality, automated alerts that notify users of system activity, and the unique cloud federation feature which allows enterprise users to easily add cameras to remote locations while centralising monitoring within their existing Security Center operations. With a guaranteed uninterrupted service 99.5% of the time, and a modern and easy to use interface, users will be able to quickly and reliably access live and recorded video from their Stratocast system on their computer, smartphone or tablet, from anywhere in the world.

Genetec will also showcase the latest version of its security platform, Security Center, that blends video surveillance (Omnicast), access control (Synergis) and license plate recognition (Autovu) into a single unified platform. The newest version of Security Center will introduce a new threat level management functionality that allows users to respond to changing security conditions in real-time; remote workstation control and software video wall functionalities to facilitate collaboration; advanced camera blocking to further strengthen the protection of privacy; integration of the HID next-generation edge and Vertx Evo access control product lines, and integrations with several other partners.

Visitors to the Genetec stand will also be able to see the newly available Synergis Master Controller (SMC). The SMC is an IP-enabled intelligent door controller designed to address longstanding customer demand for non-proprietary access control solutions. To achieve this, the SMC offers native support of non-proprietary access control hardware from leading vendors such as HID Global and Mercury Security. Through the SMC, users will also be able to easily migrate to an IP-based access control solution while leveraging existing equipment and wiring.
