Fingertec Q2i devices soar with Qatar Airways

Saudi Arabia

Fingertec technology has often taken to the skies but now it is the time for the brand to take off with Qatar Airways, one of the biggest airlines in the world.

Based in Qatar’s capital city of Doha, Qatar Airways began its operations in 1994 and now contains more than 150 aircraft in its fleet. As of 2014, the company is fully owned by the Qatari government with subsidiaries such as Qatar Duty Free, a duty free retailer located at Hamad International Airport, and Qatar Aircraft Catering Company, an award-winning catering service to Qatar Airways and other airlines that service Hamad International Airport.

Qatar Airways has many offices in various countries around the world, and one of those has recently installed Fingertec devices for time attendance and access control. Five Q2i devices were ordered and installed at the Al Khobar, Dammam branch in Saudi Arabia. Established near the King Fahd International Airport, the branch is strategically located to expand Qatar Airways’ services in the area.

The Q2i device is designed with a coloured screen for a vivid presentation and has a storage capacity of 3000 fingerprint templates and 120000 transaction logs. The device has multiple verification methods including fingerprint, passcode, and RFID cards. The devices ordered by Qatar Airways’ Khobar branch uses the Ingress software to operate the time attendance and access control systems.

All this was possible with ITQAN, one of Fingertec’s resellers in Saudi Arabia. Beginning operations in 2005, ITQAN’s services include door access and time attendance systems, networking, tel-communications, security CCTV and alarm system, and maintenance contracts.
