Although it is even smaller than a palm and very light as well, this camera has almost all the functions of a professional surveillance camera with 1/3-inch 1.3Mp CMOS and it is equipped with both H.264 & MJPEG dual-stream encoding, realtime recording at 720p and max. 15fps at 1.3 megapixel, PoE power supply (non Wi-Fi version).

When this series was under development, the question “What do the home-users need?” was asked thousands of times by Dahua designers; and one obvious answer is that for home-users, a practical but small and aesthetic camera with simplicity and flexibility is what they are looking for.

Take the model IPC-K100W as an example, this model supports WPS (Wi-Fi protection setup), which can further simplify the Wi-Fi installation while improving network security. In addition, the camera also supports a PIR Sensor (Passive Infrared) with a 6-metre range. Anyone detected within this range will trigger the alarm and send an instant notification (E-mail/SMS) to alert the house owner to take immediate actions. Meanwhile, the camera is equipped with a flashlight, which simultaneously flashes along with the alarm (the camera supports external devices, audible for example) for alert and also serves as the light source for better image capturing and video recording.

Other than burglar or unauthorised-access prevention, the IPC-K100 also has a practical use as a house-keeper. With connection to DMSS (Dahua’s digital mobile surveillance software), the user can, whenever and wherever they are, monitor the situation in real time, they can “watch over” their family or pets, and the embedded high-quality audio intercom allows two way communication.

Additionally, the installation can be flexible. It can be placed on a desk or it can be installed on the wall, depending on individual requirements, it is aesthetically pleasing in its design and will blend effortlessly with most interior decor.
