Brickcom wireless router for multi-megapixel streaming

Hsinchu, Taiwan

Brickcom is introducing the latest product in the 'Brickone Solution' family: the WRT-750N 802.11a/b/g/n simultaneous dual-band wireless video router. This product is focused on providing a high-quality wireless link for video streaming, and is designed as the perfect match for the Brickcom wireless IP cameras for places where it is difficult to run network cables.
There is no doubt that the number of wireless client devices (laptops, smartphones, etc.) and access points are growing at an unprecedented rate. Furthermore, most of these wireless devices operate on the 2.4GHz band. In almost all locations the 2.4GHz channels are crowded with user traffic, and this situation makes it difficult to achieve effective wireless video streaming, which requires a steady transmission rate and low transmission delay.

The WRT-750N addresses this issue by offering the 5GHz wireless channels, which are used less, experience less inteference, and are therefore more suitable for wireless video streaming.  It features Advanced MIMO technology and multi-antennae designed to support up to a max of 450Mbps on the 5GHz band and a max of 300Mbps on the 2.4GHz band.  With automatic seaching, it is designed to find the best-quality wireless channel to use.  The WRT-750N offers several Gigabit Ethernet ports, 1 for WAN and 4 for LAN.

The WMM (Wi-Fi Multimedia) is included to prioritise the video streaming data on the wireless channel. For WMM to be working most effectively the wireless client device also needs to support WMM, and Brickcom wireless IP cameras do support WMM.  Internet QoS is also supported to prioritise the outgoing video streaming data transmission for remote viewing purposes.

The WRT-750N offers a USB storage function which works as an FTP server or a network drive for storing video recordings.  Up to 8 guest wireless networks can be configured (4 on the 2.4GHz band and 4 on the 5 GHz band) to the network camera to manage the video surveillance traffic and the typical user traffic separately.
