Axonx expands product line

Sparks, MD (USA)

Axonx, a developer of video-based fire, smoke & intrusion detection technology announces the extension of its SigniFire product line to include a stand alone IP network camera. This new product embeds the SigniFire detection algorithms onto a network camera powered by a Texas Instruments TMS320DM642 digital media processor. With fire, smoke and motion detection analytics residing on the camera, the need to burden the network with video or data is eliminated unless an actual event is detected.

"Axonx is committed to developing the most advanced fire detection solutions in the world. We provide our customers with early-warning fire & security solutions to combat the everyday risk of fire destruction in larger volume structures," says Mac Mottley, CEO of axonX LLC. "This new product will provide a low cost solution for advanced fire detection in situations where there have been no effective options while leveraging the proven benefits of an IP network camera security system. Pushing intelligent video analytics to the edge of the network magnifies the value of your camera network while reducing the data transfer as well as required storage" says Mr. Mottley.

The SigniFire network camera will include a dry contact relay for connection to standard fire alarm panels as well as the Ethernet connection for transfer of video and alarms over the network. This self contained fire detection camera will consume less than five watts of power and is scheduled for UL & FM listing in 2007.
