Automatic Systems wins contract in the Oman Sultanate

Wavre, Belgium

Automatic Systems recently won an order in the Oman Sultanate to provide an electronic toll collection system.

Aselsan, a company active in the sector of electronics, optoelectronics and microelectronics in Turkey, both for military and civil applications, was founded at the end of 1975 by the Turkish armed forces foundation to manufacture electronic material for defence.

Since its foundation, Aselsan has expanded its product range and customer base. Today its activities are varied and it offers a wide range of solutions including military communications, radar systems, automation and control and much more.

For its toll motorway business unit, Aselsan has repeatedly called upon Automatic Systems to supply toll rising barriers. Automatic Systems are extremely proud that more than 300 rising barriers have been installed on the Turkish highway network.

Recently, Aselsan decided to prospect other markets in the region. The company just won a major contract for the installation of an ETC system (electronic toll collection) in the Oman Sultanate. Automatic Systems won the order for 35 BL 229 Toll rising barriers.

The reliability and robustness of our barriers even in extreme climatic conditions, in this particular case heat, have been key factors in Aselsan's choice.

Automatic Systems latest BL will have to prove its efficient characteristics, just like its big sisters before her, in countries where temperatures may sometimes reach 45° in the shade. Sand storms in these areas are also a usual climatic phenomena.
