Assa Abloy enhances Aperio portfolio

London, UK

Assa Abloy's Aperio technology will enable mechanical doors to be integrated into access control systems at an even more favourable price in the future.
A communications hub providing a wireless connection with up to eight doors has just been added to the Aperio product portfolio.

The new communications hub AH30 can operate up to eight doors within a transmission range of around 15 to 25 metres. Suitable for interior doors, this hub is particularly practical for hallways with a number of adjacent rooms.

Already available on the global market place, Assa Abloy’s Aperio technology enables doors with mechanical locks to be integrated into both new and existing access control systems at a favourable price. Thanks to the new communications hub, costs for each door integrated into the system are now even lower. The time and effort required for installation are also reduced, since only one single 1-to-8 hub needs to be integrated instead of numerous 1-to-1 hubs.

Using Aperio technology, the hub contacts the access control software application via an encrypted radio link in a matter of seconds to verify whether a locking medium is authorised for access or not. The radio link to the EAC system operates on the IEEE 802.15.4 frequency band (2.4 GHz) and is encrypted using AES (128 bit). The current door status is displayed using a LED indicator.
