Airlive new wireless outdoor CPE

Taipei, Taiwan

Airlive has introduced a new generation long distance transmission PoE passthrough wireless 5GHz CPE built on 802.11 A/N standard-- the Airlive Airmax 5x--which includes 15KV ESD (electrostatic discharge) protection and is able to provide long-distance transmission of up to 10km.

This solution for building wireless outdoor network has been designed to be cost effective, reliable and includes many features and comprehensive performance. It runs in a spectrum of 5.1 to 5.8 GHz. The CPE enclosure is built with high grade anti-UV materials for protection from prolonged sunshine and rain. It includes an integrated 14dBi 5GHz MIMO antenna with horizontal and vertical polarisation. The internal PCBA slides out for easy maintenance. The built-in advanced passive Power over Ethernet is for the deployment of the PoE network environment.

With the integrated directional MIMO antenna and high performance 150Mbps 11n radio, the Airmax5x can reach long distances using the built-in antenna.

Despite its solid housing, the Airmax5x is fully packed with performance hardware and software. The long distance radio, according to Airlive, provides longer distances and better signals than many of the competition on the market. The Airmax5x can function as an AP, Client, WDS AP, WDS station, Gateway or WISP. Therefore, the user can instantly transform the CPE for different wireless applications.

With the new Airlogic interface, the web configuration is much more user friendly than ever before. Users can simply start by selecting a wireless mode, the Airmax5x will display only options available in that wireless mode. No more guessing and experimenting.

The Airmax5x provides the capability to control total connection or per user's bandwidth. Therefore, the WISP operators can offer different classes of connection speeds for different subscription fees – just like an ADSL service.

The PoE passthrough function allows the Airmax5x to pass through the PoE Power to other access points or IP cameras. It can reduce the system integrator’s installation time; because the power source is always a major issue in outdoor applications.
