Secon prepares for biggest show yet

Seoul, Korea

The Secon 2019 show, dedicated to the development of the security industry and boosting global trade for all areas of security products and solutions, will take place at the Kintex convention centre in Seoul in March. Covering a total show area of 22,000+m2, Secon 2019 will be in its largest scale format yet and aims to have 500+ exhibitors from 15+ countries and 46,000+ buyers participating from all over the world.

According to the revealing report by Marketresearch.com, the South Korean NAMA (Network-based Advanced Malware Analysis) solution market witnessed a healthy growth of 39.0% on a YoY basis in 2016. This dramatic growth over the year is describe by the analysts as being due to the increased number of sophisticated malware attacks in South Korea, leading to an increasing trend in the adoption of cloud-based solutions. These incidents have damaged the reputation and trust of the security vendor by impacting the stability of its security software solutions to business users, such as Governments, BSFI (banking, financial services and insurance), internet shopping malls, Interpark...etc..  The report shows that these cyber attacks actually resulted in personal information leakage for financial gain for about 10.3 million users.

In addition, the research finds that the electronic communications industry, including IP surveillance, in South Korea has strong growth potential across the market. In terms of investment opportunities and product sales, the sector is offering strong growth prospects for both domestic and international companies. New market trends continue to emerge in South Korea's cyber security sector, in particular, driven by improving economic conditions. A multitude of new companies coupled with technological advancements continue to shape the new market dynamics.

As the biggest security exhibition in Korea, Secon fulfills the role of test-bed and trend-setter for global security enterprises to help grow their businesses in the Asian market. Furthermore, Secon has been growing by more than 10% per year in terms of the numbers of exhibitors and visitors -- 433 exhibitors from 12 countries and 46,324 visitors from 25 countries participated in Secon 2018.
