Hikvision & Paxton create seamless vehicle entry system

Hangzhou, china

The Hikvision automatic number plate recognition system now integrates into the Paxton’s Net2 access control system providing a host of benefits to installers and integrators which in-turn can be passed onto their end-user customers.

Working in a stand-alone environment or part of a wider Hikvision solution this integration allows legacy and new Hikvision ANPR systems to be operated seamlessly from the Net2 system helping to control a gate or barrier by associating an individual’s car registration number with their access control credential such as entry card or key fob over multiple formats which utilise the Wiegand interface. This means the user does not have to leave the vehicle to action the gate or barrier.

Paxton provides industry-leading access control systems which meet the challenges and trends of the security market. With over 30 years’ experience, the company offer engineering excellence, creating simple, yet intelligent and innovative products with simplicity designed in, ensuring they are straightforward to install, use and maintain. Net2 is one of the UK’s most popular access control solutions, with more than 150 additional buildings being fitted out with it every week. The security system offers centralised administration and control of sites ranging from one to hundreds of doors, and thousands of users.

Peter Ma, Technical Lead for Hikvision UK & Ireland said “Hikvision are global leaders in surveillance solutions and automatic number-plate recognition (ANPR) is being widely used across the UK and growing from strength to strength. This partnership takes both Hikvision’s and Paxton’s expertise and knowledge in their respective fields and applies this into a solution that will take our ANPR solution to a new level. “

Ma continued “Knowing we have fully integrated our hardware with Paxton’s software will give installers and end-users piece of mind that the solution is partnership of knowledge., It has been developed to make the experience for the installer and end user as seamless as you would expect, with none of the usual compatibility and integration issues.
