Vigitron launches Maxiiguard for Ethernet surge protection

San Diego, Ca

At the ASIS 2011 convention in Orlando, Florida recently Vigitron introduced several new additions to its Ethernet extender line of products.
Using propriety technology of symmetric bandwidth (SBW) and pass through PoE (PTP) Vigitron's approach to extending data and PoE to distances of up to 5,000 feet (1,515 metres) assures the user of minimal bandwidth and information packet loss.

The Vi2804 Maxiicollector provides full fixed management network switching allowing four 10/100BaseT Ethernet inputs to be transmitted over a single UTP or Coax connection. The Vi2804P adds an 802.3af/802.3at PoE injector providing full power to each port.

The Vi2208/Vi2216 Maxiipower 8 and 16 port high power PoE midspans deliver up to 37W per port. It is fully manageable using a user friendly Windows based GUI. No power sharing assures that each port can provide full AF or AT power.

The Vi0021 Viewmate PoE camera setup tool provides in line monitoring of both PoE wattage and voltage from PoE sources to powered devices and an extra RJ45 port for local set up.

The Vi2001 Maxiiguard provides surge protection for Ethernet connections operating under potentials of high surge resulting from conditions such as lighting strikes or power fluctuations. Protection is provided concurrent to the IEC EN55024 Immunity characteristics for continuous and transient, conducted and radiated disturbances, including electrostatic discharges (ESD).

Vigitron extenders are tested to critical operating standards. Adherence to RFC 2544 assures minimal packet loss and the maximum information transfer for video images including jumbo frames used in higher size megapixel cameras. NEMA-TS 2 tested for operating under temperature ranges from -40 C to + 75 C. Vigitron's solution's are certified with camera manufacturers such as Axis, Panasonic, Samsung, Hikvision and Arecont and the certification list keeps growing.
