VidepSpehre portfolio expanded

Ottawa, Ontario (Canada)

March Networks has expanded its VideoSphere Intelligent Video Management portfolio to deliver further choice, scalability and performance. The enhanced offering includes new camera and encoder platforms utilizing H.264 compression technology and video analytic features that broaden the solution's ability to address a wide range of customer requirements.

The MegaPX 720p Camera is the latest addition to the VideoSphere family of network cameras. The MegaPX streams high resolution video (1280 x 720 pixels) at up to 30 frames per second over standard IP networks. It incorporates H.264 compression for bandwidth and storage efficiency and uses advanced progressive scan technology to ensure clear, crisp images in bright and low-light conditions. The MegaPX's compact, lightweight design and Power over Ethernet (PoE) support make it easy to install in almost any indoor location.

March Networks' newest video management platform is the VideoSphere Edge Blade Encoder, a 14-slot, 4U rack enclosure that supports up to 56 analog video streams and embedded video analytics. The Edge Blade Encoder provides organizations with a fully scalable, high-density solution that supports a cost-effective migration to all-IP networking by protecting existing investments in analog cameras while providing advanced IP video management features. The system delivers full frame rate, D1 resolution video on all channels and simultaneous H.264 and MPEG4 compression technology, which maximizes video quality and minimizes network data traffic. Each blade supports the full suite of VideoSphere analytics, and includes PoE support and onboard SD memory to ensure fault-tolerant video recording during network outages.

The VideoSphere Intelligent Video Analytics suite is also improved, with feature enhancements that expand behavioral analysis capabilities and streamline setup and configuration. VideoSphere analytic applications detect and track a wide range of actions and events captured in live video. They alert organizations to potential threats, and provide valuable insight into customer and employee behaviors, staffing levels and other operational activities.

"Our VideoSphere solution continues to gain traction with customers in a number of demanding projects around the globe," said Fabrizio Colciago, chief technology officer, March Networks. "These latest additions to the portfolio allow organizations to take advantage of today's most advanced technologies while making the transition to all-IP video management solutions."
