Supra collaborates on car tracking integration

Minneapolis, Mn

Mobile Dealer Data, a leading provider of car tracking solutions to the automotive industry, has entered into a collaboration with Supra to offer its proprietary IoT Drive technology to power Lotpoint, Supra’s newest product for car dealership productivity.

The Supra Lotpoint system is designed to locate cars automatically and in real time, whether the vehicle is on the main lot, a remote location, or in service. Supra, a leading provider of key management systems, is part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp.

"We are thrilled to offer the new Lotpoint vehicle location system, an ideal tool for tracking and finding cars,” said Scott Westfall, national sales director, Supra. “Lotpoint powered by Mobile Dealer Data works in step with Supra’s Keyadvantage system and enables dealers to navigate to a vehicle and access the keys without having to leave the customer’s side. This combined solution is designed to change the way dealerships do business while improving efficiency and enhancing the customer experience.”

With the Lotpoint system, sales and service staff can locate cars using the Mobile Dealer Data application on a desktop, tablet or smartphone. Users can browse and select a vehicle from inventory, or enter a VIN, stock, year, make or model to show the current location of the asset.

Unlike GPS or radio-frequency identification (RFID) based systems, the Lotpoint technology provides the real-time location of any asset indoors and outdoors including in remote lots and parking structures. It delivers greater cost efficiencies through affordable initial investment, easy installation, and lower device replacement costs compared to other solutions.

“Lotpoint will transform dealerships into connected environments,” said Colin McElhatton, founder and CEO of Mobile Dealer Data. “It will free the dealership team to focus on providing a higher, more efficient level of service to their customers."
