Siqura launches all in one thermal PID camera

Gouda, The Netherlands

Siqura’s TC620-PID all-in-one thermal PID camera is designed to allow the detection of intruders in all lighting and weather conditions, including complete darkness.

Siqura has expanded its Object R-PID solution with a thermal network camera. Built around a high-quality longwave infrared (LWIR) sensor, the TC620-PID offers reliable intrusion detection in all lighting and weather conditions. The TC620-PID can be used on its own or in combination with a central configuration server and/or video management system.

Thermal cameras and conventional cameras are sensitive to different parts of the electromagnetic spectrum. Conventional cameras see light, while thermal cameras see heat. As a result, thermal cameras are able to detect objects shrouded in darkness, smoke, fog or dust. A further advantage is that thermal cameras don't raise false alarms because of shadows or glare.

Siqura's TC620-PID is engineered to offer an extremely reliable perimeter intrusion detection system based on i-LIDS certified analytics. The camera, which is suited for outdoor use, can be deployed as the primary sensor in sterile environments. Configuration is easy. The camera's web interface lets you draw detection lines and zones wherever they are needed.

For advanced detection and forensic search options, all you need to do is connect the camera to Siqura's VCA Configuration Server and/or VDG Sense, Siqura's comprehensive video management system. This allows you to quickly store and retrieve relevant objects and fine-tune the system's PID configuration, which can then be uploaded to the camera.

The TC620-PID is fully compatible with other ONVIF Profile S-conformant security products. It has a vandal-resistant IP66-rated die-cast aluminium housing and is available with a wide variety of lenses.

"The production cost of thermal sensors has dropped sharply over the past 2 years," says Roger Decker, Managing Director at Siqura. "This enabled us to build an affordable thermal network camera. The TC620-PID combines the benefits of thermal imaging and perimeter intrusion detection, resulting in increased situational awareness around the clock."
