SIA votes in chair of new Perimeter Security Subcommittee

Princeton, NJ

The Security Industry Association (SIA) Standards Committee has unanimously elected John Romanowich, President and CEO of Sightlogix, to chair the Association's new Perimeter Security Subcommittee.
Mr. Romanowich was elected Perimeter Security Subcommittee chairman at the semi-annual SIA Standards meeting in March, at ISC West. Under his leadership, the Perimeter Security Subcommittee will chart a plan of action to address in-demand topics in the perimeter security field such as development of perimeter security standards, guidelines for perimeter operations, and performance and operational standards for perimeter technologies.

“Mr. Romanowich brings his energy as a volunteer leader to the job and contributes a valuable perspective, particularly in the field of video perimeter security for critical infrastructure,” said Donald Erickson, SIA's CEO. “The formation of this new subcommittee is an important step toward realizing the vision laid out in our SIA Standards Roadmap 2.0.”

“Developing performance guidelines is critical to all aspects of our industry, including perimeter security,” said Mr. Romanowich. “I look forward to continuing to work with the SIA Standards Committee to develop and promote industry standards and guidelines as chairman of the new Perimeter Security Subcommittee.”

Mr. Romanowich is the President and CEO of Sightlogix, one of the leading smart thermal camera suppliers for perimeter security. Mr. Romanowich also serves as a board member of SIA, and is the current chair of SIA’s Critical Infrastructure Protection Working Group.
