The casino is upgrading security as part of its plans for an increase in visitor numbers and the Raytec equipment was chosen to give the surveillance team the best possible control over car parks and key external areas.
The Voyager LPR cameras allow rapid identification of vehicles in the event of a security problem, and also make it easier to keep track of who is driving onto the site.
RAYMAX Infra-Red illuminators ensure high quality image capture at night, with the twin benefits of low energy consumption and low maintenance.
"Our consultants compared products from different manufacturers and found that Raytec's were the best option," says the casino's technical manager. "We've been really pleased with the way they are working."
The Voyager range of high performance, purpose-designed license plate capture cameras uses cutting edge technology to capture vehicle license plates day and night at speeds up to 100 mph and distances up to 40m (131ft).
Voyager cameras are fully integrated and overcome all problems associated with license plate cameras - speed, reflectivity, sunlight, car headlights and depth of field - regardless of the ambient lighting conditions. All voyager units are factory set so there is no need for adjustment or re-calibration.
'As most crimes happen during the hours of darkness, we must be aware that all CCTV/LPR systems need adequate lighting to deliver high quality images for enhanced security at night; no light equals no picture,' warns David Lambert, sales and marketing director, Raytec.
The Voyager LPR range is powerful, flexible and reliable and can be used directly with DVR's on a stand alone basis or used in conjunction with LPR software systems.
