The new MP980 I-ONYX range comprises an internal dome, an external dome and a box camera, all of which are equipped with true day/night functionality. A removable IR-cut filter and auto iris control allows the cameras to deliver clear images 24 hours a day at lighting levels as low as 0.03 Lux.

All three models support Power over Ethernet and offer seamless integration with the Vicon Net video management system. They also conform to the ONVIF global standard, making them compatible with other network video products.

“Megapixel cameras, by definition, create greater demands on storage and bandwidth requirements compared to standard resolution cameras,” said Richard Allen-Miles, Vicon’s Sales Director for the UK and Ireland. “By utilising H.264 compression technology, however, Vicon’s new megapixel cameras provide a means to address this issue by drastically reducing file sizes and thereby minimising bandwidth usage.”
