QNAP Security upgrades Viostor firmware

Taipei, Taiwan

QNAP Security has released the new Viostor NVR firmware v4.0.0 introducing a new user interface design and offering cross-browser enhancement to greatly improve ease of use for surveillance management and operation.
To provide a better user experience, the QNAP Viostor NVR has an improved user interface design for optimal work flow. The IP camera management list has been improved with a user-oriented concept enabling more intuitive operations. The new format presents the list of IP cameras in a way that allows users to easily click on a specific camera to obtain the live view, and to quickly identify which camera supports PTZ function. Additional flexibility permits users to drag and drop the control panel to the desired position. The Viostor NVR supports up to 64-channel display modes for live monitoring and 16-channel display modes for playback, provides practical real-time system alert and e-map function, and offers more management flexibility when using this powerful surveillance system.

"The new user interface introduced in firmware v4.0.0 is extremely user-friendly with intuitive operation and easy camera management," said Andrew Yu, product manager of QNAP Security. "Users will enjoy the ease of operating the Viostor NVR system and managing multiple IP cameras through multi-server monitoring, especially for deployment with various IP cameras on multi-sites."

The Viostor firmware v4.0.0 also enhances cross-browser support. In addition to Internet Explorer, PC users can now utilise the Viostor NVR service through other browsers, including Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or they can install the standalone application QNAP Surveillance Client for Windows. "Coupled with QNAP Surveillance Client for Mac, the Viostor NVR presents itself as a flexible surveillance solution catering for users of different operating systems," added Yu.

In addition, the Viostor firmware v4.0.0 supports more new IP camera brands and an additional 130 compatible IP camera models. The expanded IP camera compatibility list offers users more flexibility in selecting suitable IP cameras when deploying an IP surveillance system.
