Optex completes integration with Avigilon VMS

Otso, Japan

Optex Co Ltd have completed the integration of their sensors and detectors with the Avigilon Control Center (ACC) video management software (VMS).
The result is designed to improve IP video surveillance by minimizing false alarms for outdoor perimeter applications.

The Optex detection products integrated into the ACC Standard and Enterprise VMS software (version 5.0.2.24 or later) include the Redscan Laser-Scan detectors, which identify the size, speed, and distance from the detector of a moving object. The device processes that information with a unique algorithm, resulting in a highly reliable detection system with minimal false alarms.

The PIE-1 PoE Alarm IP Encoder has also been included in the integration process and provides power over Ethernet (PoE) for the Optex Redscan, Redwall, and Redbeam devices.  This eliminates the need for separate power feeds; it also converts alarm signals to an IP signal sent to the Avigilon ACC client for Redwall SIP and Redbeam photoelectric detectors, effectively integrating these detectors with the ACC client.

“Combining Optex sensor and detector technology with Avigilon’s ACC software will provide an efficient systems integration solution for users who want to effectively respond to security alarms and events with video verification," says Mac Kokobo, Optex America CEO. “Optex sensors and detectors actively reduce video-driven false alarms. As a result, they can eliminate the need for costly responses by personnel."

The Avigilon integration was demonstrated as part of the Optex product showcase in Las Vegas last week at the ISC West show.
