Gerks joined G4S in 2013 as SVP Human Resources for Secure Solutions. In his new role, Gerks oversees Human Resources, Learning and Development, and Health and Safety for all G4S businesses in North America. Gerks is based in Jupiter, Florida, and reports directly to John Kenning, G4S Regional CEO for North America and Technology.

Under Gerks' leadership, G4S has won awards for best practices in people management, leadership excellence and training & development. Prior to joining G4S, Gerks spent several years with Brinks as the SVP for HR in their U.S. business. His earlier career included periods with C.R. Bard, a global medical device company, and Coca-Cola enterprises, where he progressed through various HR roles.
