New 1080P flat dome from Grundig
Remscheid, Germany
Roman Reger, product manager at Grundig, explains, “Multiple video stream technology at up to 2MP full HD is found across most of our IP camera range, even with our cost-effective flat dome. We have enabled up to four independent video streams to be processed simultaneously, at up to 30FPS. This allows efficient video transmission and storage, whilst saving network bandwidth. The 2MP stream is ideal for recording and the lower resolution, D1 or CIF video streams, are optimized for viewing on monitors or smartphones.
“The flat dome camera also benefits from progressive scan technology. Here, each complete image in the video stream is updated at 30 FPS, rather than only alternate lines of the image as found in the more commonly used Interlace technology. This also creates less motion blur. The flat dome video format is 16:9, which can be rotated through 90° to provide portrait or landscape views. The portrait setting is particularly relevant for narrow fields of view like corridors, stairs and passageways.”
Five privacy zones, motion detection and Micro SD / SDHC recording are included and image quality has been further enhanced with ATW, WDR and DNR functionality.
