Multimedia phone plus door phone gives intelligent access control

Brookline, Ma and Clamart, France

Grandstream Networks and Linkcom have completed the interoperability development and certification of Grandstream's GXV3140 and GXV3175 IP multimedia phones with Linkcom's Link Slim IP door phone.
Together, this integrated solution adds real-time video streaming capability for residential and small business users implementing a door access control solution for monitoring a home, apartment or business location.

Customers throughout Europe looking to upgrade premise security can easily and cost-effectively implement this SIP-based door phone solution with two-way voice and real-time H.263 video between the IP multimedia phones and Link Slim IP door phone to ensure safe facility access regardless of whether both devices are on a peer-to-peer (P2P) network or a PBX network.

“Immediately after launching our IP door phones we sought to bundle them with Grandstream IP multimedia phones,” said Adlene Askri, Business Development Manager for Linkcom. “We selected Grandstream because their products are very popular in the market, deliver superb sound and picture quality, possess a strong set of features, and offer superior value and affordability to users. Grandstream also has a great reputation with IP video phones, being one of the first manufacturers to release IP phones with the H.263 video codec and a large colour display.”

“With IP, its extreme flexibility opens up a wide range of new, cost-effective and useful applications for business and residential customers,” said David Li, CEO of Grandstream Networks. “The increased demand for premise-based security access solutions allows companies like Grandstream and Linkcom to easily add an intelligent video component to its products and together offer a wide range of customers the ability to add a new layer of protection for their home/office, assets and people. “

Compatible with all major IP PBX manufacturer platforms, Linkcom’s Link Slim IP door phone easily integrates with any IP PBX supporting SIP v2. The Link Slim IP door phone connects to the IP network using only a network cable to enable audio, video, and data sharing. In addition to making and receiving two-way voice calls, the Link Slim IP door phone can broadcast live video streams to IP phones or soft phones using the H.263 and H.264 codec. Users control the unit directly from the telephone or computer. If users wish to avoid wiring problems, the door phone can connect to a SIP server or P2P network through a Wifi or CPL bridge.

The award-winning Grandstream GXV31xx IP multimedia phones combine voice, video and multimedia functionality into a single desktop device. Everything required for an advanced, integrated multimedia communication experience is included in the phone such as high quality real-time video conferencing with HD audio, social media and business productivity applications, streaming online rich media content, built-in web browser, etc. The GXV3175 model features a slim tablet-like design with a 7” touch screen colour LCD and built-in Wifi, while the Skype-certified GXV3140 model features a 4.3” digital TFT colour LCD. Both the GXV3175 and GXV3140 include a tiltable 1.3 megapixel CMOS camera, allowing for live streaming of H.264/H.263/H.263+ video to and from Linkcom’s Link Slim IP door phone.
