Omnicast was chosen because it has a hardware independent platform that offers features like multicasting and the ability to choose the camera brand of choice.

"We have enjoyed assisting the DOC in their planned migration to an all IP platform. Our federation server will allow them to share data from any or all facilities over the network from their central office" says Mike Tice, regional sales manager Midwest, Genetec.

The DOC plans to begin utilizing Omnicast at state prisons this fall. Omnicast will be installed by VTI Security, a Minnesota-based systems integrator and Genetec certified business partner.
