To date, SDI has determined the LAWA Center's technical platform requirements, concentrating on 26 disparate technologies including traditional security systems (video surveillance, access controls, and computer-aided dispatch), work management, gate management, building automation, and geographic information systems (GIS). The SDI team conducted interviews and site surveys to identify both existing and requested organizational, process, and technology capabilities to ensure alignment of stakeholder requirements in the final technical design. The SDI Team - which features several former airport executives and specialty technicians versed in TSA, FAA and NIMS standards - facilitated Concept of Operations (CONOPS) workshops to thoroughly vet the future technology elements within LAWA's operational environment to ensure Day One operational continuity. SDI delivered a robust blueprint for the new center, including technology requirements, project plan, and budget for the Center's technology platform.
"Our new Center is key to LAWA's on-going commitment to providing an outstanding customer experience for tenants and passengers," states Jacqueline Anna Yaft, Deputy Executive Director of Operations and Emergency Management for LAWA. "We look to SDI to provide a solution to the complexities of integrating a host of different technology components into a cohesive system that will improve our operational efficiencies and situational awareness."
According to SDI it was selected based on its deep airport command center security technology expertise and demonstrated track record of delivering mission-critical IT systems and infrastructure projects, on time and within budget. SDI brings a unique mix of 19 years of safety and security and technology systems experience within a live Category X airport environment. "SDI's intimate knowledge of the nuances of airport operations, security protocols and underlying technology components will directly benefit LAWA in building a reliable technical foundation to support critical security operations," said David A. Gupta, SDI President.
